ARM + Linux = Android = winners
I've been doing some work to get some code to run on Android and it's becoming clear to me that ARM and Linux has a bright future through Android. From the dozens of tablets to come out this year, it seems that manufacturers are really getting a good understanding of how to package hardware for Linux. Also with all of the apps that already exist, there is actually enough software to make these devices extremely usage. I'm excited about ARM because it's low-power and RISC. Tablets will truly be mobile computing because of their extended battery life. Plus with the way apps are written these days, the operating system becomes irrelevant. The more you can make the OS irrelevant, the better it is for Linux because the consumer is no longer bound to the OS. Linux is great because it's open, people knows it's inside and out and can therefore patch it, fix it and so on. In my opinion, Linux has a brighter future than Windows because it essentially cannot die. I am really excited about the future of electronics because I see more room for ARM and Linux to grow. I would also like to thank Apple for forcing everyone to go this direction.
